I did not wake up at 5:00, as expected. I woke up at 10:00 and made my dad breakfast at 1:00. Isn't that special? Although no more word on the randomness of Lake Ontario, my father did mention something about Baltimore. Which is even more so random.

It has come to my attention that my father intends for me to be proficient at handling raw meat. Which is odd, since I don't care much for meat myself. Of course, I eat it anyway... because I like to eat food...

Anywho.

I have discovered that using a pocket knife to cut down tree branches is not the quickest process. And it is quite uncomfortable when one is standing in a raspberry bush.

You know you're white trash when your clothesline (which should have four ropes) has only one rope. This warrants a trip to the neighborhood Eckerd (which, sadly, has removed the sign that said no skateboarding or loitering) for more rope-y clothesline stuff.

And after that, I am going to continue being useful, dammit!

Which reminds me (how many times have I used "which"?), I finished The Cider House Rules this morning. I really enjoyed this book. I generally like Irving's work. However, I do think the movie benefitted from leaving some of it out. I don't like to think of Melony and Homer and Candy and Wally growing old. I think next I will read The Bell Jar. But I will probably read a few plays first. A Streetcar Named Desire and Saint Joan are teasing me.

"Ain't that right, Homer?"

"Right."
